Electronics Startup 'Sanlayan Technologies' buys major Stake in 20-year-old Dexcel Electronics
The majority of Dexcel Electronics, a 20-year-old embedded systems business, has been purchased by Sanlayan Technologies, a strategic electronics startup.
Through this acquisition, Sanlayan will be better equipped to provide cutting-edge domestic solutions that promote national security and spur technical advancement in vital industries like space, aerospace, and military.
Sanlayan, which was founded by former Zetwerk employees Abhijit Kothawale, Rohan Gala, and Rahul Vamsidhar, raised $4.4 million from major institutional investors last year, including Singularity Ventures and Gemba Capital.
Major defense and space projects that Dexcel has helped with include ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1 missions, as well as improvements to Jaguar and Sukhoi aircraft.
"For Dexcel, partnering with Sanlayan is a game-changing move. Our R&D expenditures will be multiplied by this collaboration, allowing us to provide our clients with significant solutions," stated Amit Kumar Sinha, CEO and Managing Director of Dexcel Electronics Designs.
The acquisition of Dexcel will expand its core competencies to tackle embedded electrical system difficulties, according to Rohan Gala, CEO of Sanlayan.
From February 10 to 14, Sanlayan and Dexcel will present their ideas at Aero India 2025.
Amit Kumar Sinha, CEO & Managing Director of Dexcel Electronics Designs says, “Joining forces with Sanlayan represents a transformative step for Dexcel. This partnership will manifold our R&D investments, enabling us to deliver impactful solutions to our customers”.
He added, “It will not only accelerate the design-to-deployment pipeline but also drive innovation and efficiency and position Dexcel to address complex challenges in Avionics, Radar electronics, Naval systems, and signal processing”.
“Together, we are poised to build a strong vertically integrated strategic electronics company that supports PM Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, a testament to Sanlayan’s commitment to enhancing national security with the development of indigenous product solutions for Air, Water, Land, and Space applications”, he added.
